The input and output file formats for Mapper are XML.

Map-data

The XML application used by Mapper is called Map-data.

I/O Symmetry

The XML application used by Mapper for input is also used for output. That is, the output file includes all the input constraint data, and the input file may contain point position data.

Therefore, Mapper can use its own output files as input files.

SVG Translation

The Map-data XML application is easy to translate to SVG using an XSLT style-sheet.
